The Playstation Vita vs the Nintendo 3DS

A friend of mine asked me if I think the PlayStation Vita is better than the Nintendo 3DS. I don’t have an answer. Yes the Vita is a powerful device, but if the games suck the power is going to waste. At this point I have only played two Vita games to really just yet. Ultimately I will play the device that has the games I like. I can tell you that I find both difficult to play at times, as they both require awkward angles to play at times.

The new Windows 8 logo

The new Windows 8 logo is out and about on the internet for about for a few days now. Even though the look is very simple looking it is still very radical thing for Microsoft to do. Heck the whole metro layout is a radical thing for Microsoft. I know a lot of people don’t care for the new logo, but I really don’t know what to think about it. In the end it probably won’t be a big deal.

I preordered the PlayStation Vita First Edition Bundle from Amazon a few weeks ago. It came in late Wednesday evening. Due to work and few other things I didn’t get to really play with it till today. My initial reaction is it a huge improvement over the original PSP. My biggest complaint so fat is you can’t use the dpad for the initial setup. You are limited to the touch screen. I found the touch screen swiping to be lacking. Little Deviants is game that came with the bundle, and it is not very fun. I am going to give it another shot.

Jak and Daxter news

I am behind the times I guess. Back in 2009 another Jak and Daxter game out for the PS2/PSP. And now just recently I learned of a new Jak and Daxter collection for the PS3. This is freaking sweet. Now if only I could find them in stores.

iPad 3 leaked image

Someone I work with brought in an iPad 3 prototype he purchased of the internet. He let me play with for a few minutes. The entire thing looks totally legit. It is definitely thinner and lighter than the previous versions. The screen size might make it hard to carry around. So far its performance hasn’t been that great. It will need some more work before the start selling it.

Those new TMNT toys

When I was a kid I was a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I wanted to collect all the toys. It didn’t matter how ridicules they got. Seeing the new TMNT toys from the upcoming rebooted series on Nickelodeon makes me feel my childhood was robbed. They are so much better than I had a kid.

Verizon is an old persons nightmare

Those old Sierra games

Earlier in the week I saw the Topless Robot’s list of the top 10 Sierra games. Seeing this list makes me wish I had played more of them. I also wish it was possible to play them again. I know it is possible to play some of them again, but I want a cheap, easy, and legal.

Thoughts on the HP TouchPad

Last week I picked up a refurbished HP TouchPad off the internet for a decent price. Due to time constraint I didn’t to get to play with it till today. I must say that I with HP would have put a more effort into the whole tablet. The OS well is polished. The virtual keyboard on the TouchPad is the best one I have seen to date. The only thing the TouchPad is missing is a faster CPU, but what can we do now.
